Phew! What a relief! Investment Management Exam DONE! WoooHoooo!
I had plenty of time revising for this exam, well, about 5 days. So on the first day, facing the thick textbooks, the huge amount of exercise set questions and the more-than-200 powerpoint slides, I got a bit demotivated and told myself that, okay okay, I just need to pass this stupid exam, I don't need the grades, I just need the credits.
Then, as I was studying for the exam, I gradually grew interested in what they have to say about investment and all the fancy calculations that they do. I thought, it would be so cool if I memorize a few of them and just randomly spell them out when I want to show off! And, it may help me with my future investment plans as well! So I really studied, for the purpose of learning, and not really on the grades.
The materials were actually not that straight-forward. Some of them were a bit tricky and others I find that they just use big words to describe something simple, which by the way, is the essence of showing off: use BIG WORDS.
But those big words did scare me a little and I got a little nervous before the exam. But still, I think the exam went alright. And at least I can say what William Hung said on American Idol "I gave my best!" =)

Day 57 Sun, sun, sun, TOO MUCH SUN!
We have been getting so much sunlight these days that whenever I am outdoors, I feel like my eyeballs are going to explode, my skin is going to burn and my cells are going to mutate.
We are now in March, the sun is shining proud and Helsinki is slowly melting. For the first time today, I found myself staring at a snowless ground. Helsinki now feels really strange. It is as if I need to re-adjust to the environment because the surroundings are so unfamiliar.
Lame as it sounds, I got lost today going to the library to return a book, because there was no snow!
I am so sure that Helsinki will be completely different without the heavy white make-up, I am actually quite looking forward to seeing more green and more blue skies!

Day 56 The cycle
While enjoying Helsinki, I have started to analyze why I am slightly more tense in Hong Kong, and I have come to a realization that I am constantly pushing myself to achieve something that does not come easily to me.
I don't think I am talented in a lot of ways, really, I am just an average person, the world doesn't really care if I exist or not. But in quiet and sleepless nights, lying on my bed and staring at the ceiling, I find myself angry at myself at being average and just not so satisfied in just being average and following the status quo of becoming a successful person.
Almost 20 years of my life, I try to mimic the above-average group, while secretly resenting the fact that they are dominating the world. I think I have fooled some people, and sometimes, I fooled myself.
When I have finally achieved something, I tell myself that I can actually do much more and better. And I immediately jump into something that seem quite impossible to achieve. Sometimes, I am so consumed by the idea that I am a loser that I will deliberately put myself into a situation which I am not familiar with, so I can slowly achieve something out of it.
I am always in a cycle of being a loser, then achieving something, then being a loser again ... the cycle goes on and on and on.
But then again, at times, I question myself whether I would be much happier when I stop doing this, and remain achieving something. There is always a question of "would you rather be a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big pond".
I feel like going in this cycle is the only way which I can keep up with other people and with the world. I think this cycle will continue when I get back to Hong Kong, but the only change is, my attitude is different, I will be happy to be in this cycle.
